SALON NOTES / 07
Keep Sample Notes That Help the Next Reorder
The most useful sample notes capture what the buyer actually approved. They should let another team member understand the product without reconstructing a conversation from memory.
Start with the actual need
Give each approved sample a version and date. Record the style code, material description, colour reference, cap details and measurement method. Attach a small set of photographs taken under consistent conditions rather than a large unstructured image folder.
Check the reference
Separate an observation from an acceptance decision. For example, note the measured cap size and then record whether it falls inside the agreed range. Ask the supplier to confirm any correction before the sample is treated as approved.

Make the next step clear
Keep retail modifications separate from the factory sample. If the salon cuts or recolours a display piece, preserve the original specification. On a reorder, state which version should be repeated and list any requested changes explicitly.
